PostDoc in the group of Walter Salzburger.
Research interest
I am interested in different aspects of evolutionary biology, including genomics of speciation, population and conservation genetics, phylogenetics and phylogeography, sensory ecology and animal communication. More broadly, I am interested in the processes that underlie biological diversification and adaptation (species formation and persistence, from genomic and ecologic perspectives).
My previous work has focused mostly in the analysis of natural hybridization among freshwater fish species and evolution of reproductive isolation, phylogenetic relationships and phylogeographic patterns. Currently, I am investigating the molecular architecture of a pigmentation trait in cichlid species of the Neolamprologus brichardi/pulcher complex, and its role in communication, reproductive isolation and evolution.
