Former Research
Schistocephalus solidus, a wonderful tapeworm
During my PhD at the University of Berne I used this tapeworm to study the influence of social situation and body size on sex allocation (more on this).
Thalassoma bifasciatum, a sex changing reef fish
During my Diploma and a PostDoc I studied the sex changing reef fish, Thalassoma bifasciatum, at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama in order to study sex allocation and how it can be affected by a parasite (more on this).
Paraspadella gotoi, another transparent worm
During a one-month research visit to Mie University in Tsu, Japan I evaluated this other stunning transparent worm as an alternative to Macrostomum. I wished I could work on both (more on this).
