The Evolution and Ecology of Host-Associated Microbiota

Workshop: Host-associated Microbiota 2012

The Evolution and Ecology of Microbiota

Welcome to the website of the Host-associated Microbiota workshop 2012 taking place at the University of Basel in Switzerland on September 12th - 14th, 2012.

We would like to invite young scientists like master students, Ph.D. students or postdocs to interact with leaders in the field of host-associated microbiota and microbial ecology.

The major aim of this workshop is to provide a synthesis of the emerging research on evolutionary and ecological patterns governing the complex interactions of hosts and microbiota across different biological systems.

Please APPLY through this website. The workshop fee is 150.- CHF (Swiss Franc), which includes 2 lunches, 1 social dinner, 2 social mixers and snacks during the entire workshop. The third day of the workshop is a tutorial on the analysis of microbiota-related next-generation sequencing data. The third day costs an extra 100.- CHF (this includes materials and lunch). Unfortunately we have only a limited number of places: 100 for the workshop and 50 for the tutorial day.

Application for the workshop is closed.

The workshop will start on Tuesday evening (11th September) with registration/reception and an apero. Talks and poster sessions are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, with the workshop dinner and party taking place on Wednesday night. You can find here more information on the PROGRAM and EVENTS.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to post them to microbiota2012@unibas.ch.
Please spread the word about this conference to your students and collaborators!

We hope to welcome you in September in Basel.

Your Organising Committee,

Marilou Sison-Mangus, Samuel Pichon, Alexandra Mushegian, César Metzger and Dieter Ebert.
